Emily Chambers
President
Growing up in Adelaide, Emily never considered a career in agriculture until later in secondary school when she saw an agricultural application of the science subjects that she loved. From here, her passion for agriculture strengthened from a connection to her grandparent’s farm on the Yorke Peninsula.
Emily commenced the Bachelor of Agricultural Science with an interest in broadacre farming but has enjoyed the exposure to other industries through tertiary studies. She greatly appreciates the breadth of the agricultural industry and the integration of diverse disciplines.
Her interests revolve around applied science and building resilient farm businesses. She is passionate about clear communication to inform the best management strategy on-farm. Currently in her final year, Emily is eager to further engage with the industry through internships and networking.
Emily is honoured to represent agricultural students through her role with AUASA and wishes to strengthen connections between industry and students. Considering her journey to find a future in agriculture, Emily is also invested in helping metropolitan-based secondary students understand the world of agriculture and the jobs on offer.
