About AUASA
‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!’
While often regarded as a cliché, having strong professional connections and knowing where to seek advice are invaluable assets. Recognising this, a group of students studying Agricultural Sciences at the University of Adelaide identified the need for a dedicated social and professional network to enhance their academic experience.
As a result, the Adelaide University Agricultural Students Association (AUASA) was established in 2010 as a student-led, not-for-profit organisation. Its objectives are to bring together students studying agriculture through the organisation of social events and to facilitate meaningful engagement with the broader agricultural community.
As students approach the completion of their degree, they are often told that they have “the world at their feet.” However, navigating such a diverse and competitive employment landscape can make it challenging to identify the most appropriate first steps. AUASA aims to support students during this transition by expanding their understanding of agricultural industries, strengthening professional networks, and increasing awareness of potential career opportunities.
