The annual premier event from the Adelaide University Agricultural Students Association (AUASA) is a career’s night with a difference. Held at the Adelaide Oval, this event is an opportunity for SA’s agriculturally minded to connect over a three course meal, networking sessions and panels featuring a range of industry professionals. The 2021 Growing the Future included a “Speed-Dating” with sponsors session where close to 30 agribusinesses sent representatives to discuss their opportunities and answer any questions to the 200+ attendees ranging from university/high school students to young farmers and anyone interested in ag, which rotated after a short period of time. There was also a “Networking Masterclass” where attendees were taught the essentials in starting a conversation with a potential future employer and the core skills of forming a vast and diverse network of contacts. This was followed by a three-course meal and 2 panels discussing pressing matters to the industry with SA Agriculture’s best and brightest, with plenty of networking time in between.
